Apple is reinventing Siri: In the future, users can help you send Moments and swipe Taobao with their mouths

Reporting that Apple is brewing a complete reinvention of Siri at the visual level, and the new design is expected to be launched with iOS 26.4 next year, covering iPhone and iPad devices.

Gurman revealed that this Siri upgrade is not limited to appearance, but will also enable true in-app voice control, from passive response to active operation. Users can do complex things like find, edit, and send specific photos, post and comment on social media posts, scroll through shopping apps, add to carts, and more with just their voice.

In addition to upgrading smarter voice interaction features, Apple will also introduce animated avatars for Siri, similar to Finder logos or Memoji-style anthropomorphic avatars.

It’s worth noting that Apple updated the Siri interface for Apple Intelligence-enabled devices last year, with a colorful halo on the edges of the screen when activated.

IT House reported yesterday that Apple is brewing the largest upgrade plan for Siri to date, and is actively promoting two major artificial intelligence projects codenamed “Linwood” and “Glenwood”.

Among them, Linwood is a core project independently developed by Apple, built by the Apple Foundation Models team to build a large language model and comprehensively reconstruct Siri’s “brain”.

The parallel Glenwood project represents a strategic shift: Apple is testing Anthropic’s Claude as the Siri core engine and has evaluated ChatGPT and Google Gemini.
